Key Features:

  • Collapsible Account Hierarchy: Navigate effortlessly through various accounts and sub-accounts with expandable sections, reducing visual clutter and enhancing readability.

  • Transaction Visibility: Each transaction is presented with key details—date, journal reference, description, and amount—facilitating rapid comprehension and accurate reconciliation.

  • Instant Balance Updates: Ledger balances are updated in real-time upon data entry, providing immediate visibility of the financial impact of transactions.

  • Linked Journal References: Access detailed transaction journals directly from ledger entries for deeper analysis without losing context. Once you click on the highlighted link to Journal/Transaction, you will be brought to a registry page for a detailed breakdown of journals/transactions.

Journal Entry

To get started with your first journal entry, move to the Journal Tab under the Finance module.

How to create your first Journal:

1

Click the "Add" Button

You can find the Add button above the top right corner of the table.

2

Enter the Journal on the pop-up window

The top portion of the form is the properties of the Journal itself, which includes mostly administrative information such as Name, Memo, who created this, date, etc. You can also upload attachments here as proof of the record.

The actual values are inserted at the bottom portion of the form, where each line represents an actual line in the current journal that describes the impact on the general ledger. The dropdown of accounts helps you define what accounts this journal is impacting.

Applying an impact of the opposite type, for example, crediting a debit account will result in a negative number in the summary ledger.

Once you have entered all lines under the journal, it can be submitted

Make sure the journal is balanced when inserting the record, or an error message will pop up

3

Go back to the Summary Ledger and request an update

Confirm the journals are correctly applied to the general ledger once you are done with the entries
